Team Borneo

Just a quick note about this blog post before I get to the rest of it: everything except this first paragraph that you are currently reading was written before the idea for Survivor 31 was announced. That won’t change the rest of this post in any way. But that may explain the reasoning for some of my choices in this post. I was going with what I thought would happen at the name. I’m glad that unlike my planned post of Blood versus Water, nobody returning will miss up my old choices. I wasn’t expecting Kelly from the first season to ever play again, although I’m glad that she is. Now back to the regularly scheduled blog post.

There is an idea for a twist that I know will probably never happen since I’m posting it here. The idea would be for a new season with a strange starting twist. There would be two tribes of new players, each with three men and three women on each tribe. Then, there would be another tribe of returning players, all from the same season, that would also be split into a tribe of three men and three women. This would lead to eighteen players total in a fresh idea for a season. The people from the season would all be determined some way and they would be called team x, for lack of a better name. I decided on the name team Borneo to decide which three players would come from Borneo. The location for the season could be Borneo, but they would probably want to play somewhere else. I suggest Burma as the location for the season in question. Now when it comes to picking three men and three women from the first season to play again, then you have to know the rules of how to pick them.

Rules: 1- Whenever possible, every starting tribe must be represented by a player of both genders. 2- You cannot choose someone who has already become a returning player. 3- Only choose people that would probably return and avoid any and all people that you probably know won’t return or can’t return. 4- Three men and three women are needed for this season to work. 5- They must have all played the same season in order for the twist to work.

When I thought about doing this twist, I thought of who wouldn’t work. And, using this method, I ended up with the exact people that I would probably need. I can’t choose Richard, Rudy, Sue, Jenna, or Gervase since they have already played the game again. Obviously, B. B. can’t play again since he’s dead. They more than likely wouldn’t choose Stacey to ever play again since she sued the show. Colleen, Greg, and Kelly are all great players, but none of them seem likely to play again since most of them said that they don’t want to. This then leaves the six players that I need. And, there happens to be a man and woman from all three tribes. They may not have made it that far in the game nor may they be the best choices out of all the players from this season, but they’re the ones that I want. I will explain why shortly. The members of the team are Sonja, Ramona, Gretchen, Dirk, Joel, and Sean.

Sonja was the first person voted out of Survivor. As far as I know, she retains good health and could play Survivor again, even if she is old. Ramona may not have done as well the first time, but she’s probably waiting for a second chance at the game, more so than other contestants would. That would help since she waited too long to adjust to the game, since she’d probably want to redeem herself. Gretchen would probably love to play again. Many people have wanted her to return since she was eliminated in such a strange way. I don’t know if they’ll ever do a Second Chances season (yes, we have had returning players, but nothing close to what some would call a second chances season), but she would be nice either way. With the possible exception of Greg, she was the biggest threat on the Pagong tribe.

Dirk was the first religiously Christian contestant on the show. He was very memorable in my mind and only got voted out because there was an alliance and he wasn’t in it. I can see him returning to the show as part of this team. Joel may not have been the most interesting contestant, but he would probably work well in this team. Then there’s Sean, who has does some acting on a soap opera. He was actually a better player than some people would have you believe. I could see him returning. Plus, I need someone on this list who actually made it pretty far.

There’s my team. I would explain why I’m not choosing the other ten contestants from the season, but I don’t think that I have to. From this point forward, I’ll probably want every contestant from the first season back again, except for three. Obviously, B. B. can’t play again so I don’t know why anyone would choose him anymore. There is no way they are ever bring Stacey back since she sued the show. And I don’t think that Sue, who quit the second time, is ever coming back a third time. I will now list reasons as to why each player should play again, even if they probably won’t come back anyways. I will then list different ways that they could return to the game, based on themes that have already been used or could easily be used if it hasn’t already. Also, I should note that the addicted to Survivor group on facebook is where I got the ideas for who would be on what collar tribe.

Sonja deserves to come back since she was the first boot and could do better a second time. Ramona deserves to come back since she would be better at adapting to the game the second time. Dirk deserves to come back since he was a great player that only fell short because he wasn’t in an alliance. Joel deserves to come back since he could prove himself a better player the next time. Gretchen deserves to come back since she was a powerful player and threat to win the game. Greg deserves to come back since he was an entertaining player and adds a lot to the game. Jenna deserves to come back since she proved herself to be a good player in All-Stars, even though she fell short of making it to the end. She could still use another chance at it. Gervase deserves to come back since both of his times playing, he was pretty good, even though he never won. Colleen deserves to come back since she made it the farthest of all the Pagong members and could have lasted longer. Sean deserves to come back since he was a secretly brilliant contestant that could make a good returnee. Rudy deserves to come back since he is a well liked contestant who brought his own unique charm to the Survivor world. Kelly deserves to come back since she was a strong and fierce competitor. Richard deserves to come back since he created the game and what works in it.

Heroes: Dirk, Gretchen, Greg, Jenna, Colleen, Sean, and Rudy. Villains: Joel, Kelly, and Richard. Second Chances: Sonja, Ramona, Dirk, Gretchen, Colleen, Sean, and Kelly. All-Stars: Dirk, Gretchen, Greg, Gervase, Colleen, and Kelly. Favorites: Dirk, Gretchen, Greg, Colleen, and Kelly. Brains: Gretchen, Gervase, Rudy, and Richard. Brawn: Kelly. Beauty: Jenna, Colleen, and Sean. White collar: Richard, Ramona, and Sean. Blue collar: Rudy. No collar: Greg, Jenna, Sonja, and Kelly. Blood versus Water: Dirk (with someone like his wife), Gretchen (with someone like her husband), Greg (with someone like his sister), Jenna (with someone like her husband), and Sean (with someone like his father). One returnee per tribe seasons: Greg and Gretchen (both threats voted out after the merge), Jenna and Greg (due to their rivalry), Rudy and Richard (due to their mutual respect for each other).

Well, that’s my thoughts on the Borneo cast members. I’ve shared different thoughts before, but I thought that this one would be good too. I know the main twist of this blog post might never happen (but if Survivor ever wants to hire me as a creative consultant, feel free to let me know), but I still thought that I’d mention this anyways. Also, there is probably no way that everyone from this season becomes a returning player (especially since I’m still worried about Guatemala never having a returning player), but I still like putting my best effort into getting these people to return, even if none of them ever do besides those who have. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Survivor Worlds Apart Finale

Well, we finally reached the end of another Survivor season. Things sure have gotten crazy at the end. If you ask me, introducing the next season may be a way of making us forget that this season was as terrible as it was. I am glad that it broke the format of the typical three tribe seasons that have happened in the past. But there’s plenty wrong with the season making me wish that they had done an all-stars season this season. But we have one to look forward to in the future. Are they making up for the failure of this season? Honestly, I don’t think that this season will go down as a good one. That’s why I’ll be glad to put it behind us. I just wish that they weren’t switching the orders of 31 and 32. They are filming season 32 now and will film season 31 next. So weird.

I give too much priority to Survivor sometimes. I gave up watching Arrow because of Survivor. I gave up watching Revolution because of Survivor. I normally don’t see The Middle episodes until they first hit syndication. I will have to record SVU tonight when I normally watch it right after Survivor. I guess I don’t know why I give it too much priority considering how I could watch shows online. I guess that I just don’t want to be drawn into that and I also don’t think that I’ll have enough time for it either. I should tell people what shows I watch each day on my TV blog. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Jeff Probst introduces us to the finale. He mentions that this season has caused controversy. Now I’ll never understand why somebody would want something to be controversial. That seems dumb to me. I just hope that these pre reunion show bits won’t ruin the actual reunion show. They haven’t had good reunion shows lately. The usual long recap follows. Carolyn is glad that she played the idol and I’m glad that she hasn’t wasted it earlier. Can Mike win the last two immunity challenges and pull a Fabio to win the game? Or is he destined to be voted out soon?

In the second segment of the show, we get to a loved ones reward challenge for some odd reason. It seems odd to do it this late in the game. I wonder if Rodney is doomed to lose the challenge like he has lost every other reward challenge. You know, a loved ones challenge in the finale isn’t that bad an idea if the alternative is a reward challenge where the winner gets an immunity challenge advantage. It also explains why they went straight to the reward challenge in the first segment after the break. It also probably explains the last twist that they were doing in this episode. It turns out that there is an advantage that someone will get in addition to time with their loved one. Remember when I did the blog post on the ten worst Survivor twists? Well a reward challenge in the finale should have been on the list, but I had forgotten to add it then. I do wonder if all of the tiles have numbers on the back or just the ones without pairs. You’d think someone would just look at the back of all of them, but that might be against the rules of the challenge. Mike wins the reward.

In the third segment of the show, Mike enjoys time with his mother. I do wonder how they decide which loved ones visit. We find out what the advantage is. They are wasting water which I don’t like. Mike doesn’t think that the advantage will help him, but we’ll see whether or not it does. Deborah thinks that she let her son down.

In the fourth segment of the show, we have the awesome maze challenge. This is the number one reason that I want to be in the finale of Survivor in hopes that I can compete in this challenge. I just hope that I get the version where I can see. Mike ends up winning the challenge.

In the fifth segment of the show, Carolyn thinks that she’s at the bottom of the alliance, which is clear based on the votes in the previous episode. Carolyn, Sierra, and Mike decide to vote for Rodney. Mike tells Rodney about this and decides to stir the pot. Mike will have to figure out which side to join. Does he go with the men and vote out Sierra or does he join the women to vote out Rodney? If making the right decisions is the point of this season, then does this define the point of the season? Things are discussed at the tribal council and it is Sierra that gets voted out of the game, possibly unanimously. It’s sad to see her leave.

In the sixth segment of the show, we go straight into the final immunity challenge with no camp life in between. Mike has a close fight with Carolyn and ends up winning the challenge. If he can actually win the game, I really would love him doing the happy dance when he does so. We also get to see the second chance contestants waiting to see if they will be on the show or not. With 32 potential players, 12 will not make the cut while the other 20 will be on that season.

In the seventh segment of the show, I wonder if there will be a tie at the final four. Will thinks that Carolyn being a mother will help her win the game. It’s weird that he thinks that since too many women have lost the game over something like that. Mike would rather lose honorably than win with two goats. In a way, I hope that Rodney is voted out since that would put all three original tribes in the final tribal council. In a different way, I hope that Carolyn is voted out so we can see Rodney and Mike have it out at the final tribal council. Either way, I’d be satisfied. Meanwhile, I’m recording the finale of SVU right now. So many season finales this season are on tape for me to watch. There are also a lot of interesting cliffhangers that make me look forward to next season. It turns out that there is a tie as expected. We get a commercial before the tie-breaker was to occur. At least it’s better than making us wait until the next episode like they did in Panama. Also, I’ll be watching the last episode of the Late Show with David Letterman tonight. It seems weird that his last show is in the middle of the week and that it won’t be until the fall that Stephen Colbert starts hosting the show. Why not an immediate transition? I apologize if I ever don’t talk about Survivor and ramble about other things in this blog.

In the eighth segment of the show, we get to the fire making challenges. Suddenly I have flashbacks to Cook Islands. Both need flint replaced in the end. I don’t think that I like flint being able to be replaced so easily. This does seem very much like the Cook Islands tie-breaker as both people are terrible at making the fire. Rodney gets fire for a moment, but loses it. He then gets it back again and Carolyn finally gets fire as well. In the end, Carolyn finally wins the challenge meaning that Rodney gets voted out. Now who will win between Carolyn and Mike? Does Will have a chance? Could there possibly be a tie between the finalists? Maybe that is why they were both considered for a future season.

In the ninth segment of the show, the final three that has a member of each of the starting tribes thinks about their place in the game. They get a celebratory feast to celebrate all becoming finalists. Each of them talks about how they could win going into the final tribal council. There’s no rites of passage. Maybe they should do that again, but I’m not sure if they will. There are no opening statements for some odd reason. Joe talks first among the jury members. He talks about what needs done to own his vote. Hali directs a question to Carolyn about how the mother role could be a disadvantage to the game. Rodney is third and directs a question to Rodney before he wonders what Carolyn did in the game. He directs nothing to Mike at all. Tyler asks his question of Mike. It seems that the jury doesn’t like Mike that much. But is that because they were in an alliance that he wasn’t in? Tyler also wonders why Carolyn betrayed him. He asks nothing of Will. Sierra asks Will what traits from other players in the game he wished that he had. Jenn speaks out in support of Mike, which I find interesting. I love the support of finalists by jury members. Jenn, consider yourself redeemed in my eyes. Dan doesn’t like having to follow Jenn. But then Dan berates Mike about him not possibly caring about the jury aspect of the game. Mike apologizes to Dan for the game he was doing. Dan thanks Mike for doing it. Shirin then gets the last talk of all the jury members. She is glad that Mike is the nice person that he is. She talks about her life in the past but for some odd reason wants to vote for Carolyn. What? She then makes animal comparisons to the finalists. My favorite part is when she called Will a dead fish. She makes a nod to Sue Hawk.

Total confessional count: Mike- 57, Rodney- 37, Carolyn- 45, Will- 19, Sierra- 19. New confessionals this episode: Will- 3, Sierra- 2, Mike- 11, Rodney- 3, Carolyn- 6. Special loved one confessional: Deborah- 2.

In the tenth segment of the show, there no closing statements. I am not okay with this. You are not giving the finalists the chance that they deserve. Rodney votes for Will, which I find a bit strange. So it looks like all three finalists get a vote to win. Dan doesn’t know who to vote for. Will he be the swing vote? Will it be a 4-3-1 vote? This is going to be close and nerve racking. At least I’ll be happy with either Carolyn or Mike winning. Will Mike’s mistakes catch up with him? Or has he overcome all he needs to? It is Mike who ends up winning the season. Finally, somebody wins the game and plays an idol successfully on themselves. And a Mike finally wins, so that’s good.

In the eleventh segment of the show, Jeff talks about how Mike could have played better since he was on the bottom. He does seem similar to Chris from Vanuatu. Dan and Mike have a repaired relationship now. Rodney gets a chance to talk about how he played the game. Carolyn is surprised by the lack of votes that she got. But she’s eager to see if she’s on the next season. Joe is glad that people liked him this season.

In the twelfth segment of the show, we get to some of the controversial contestants on this season. We start with Dan trying to explain his decisions in the game. We get shown raw footage and it seems like Jeff is berating Dan. I don’t like that Jeff. Some people may not like him, but that doesn’t mean that you should talk to people like this.

In the thirteenth segment of the show, the Shirin and Will fight is brought to light. Will apologizes to Shirin about the fight. Now I don’t think that there was something at Ponderosa, but we can’t tell since we never see the finalists at Ponderosa. Rodney also gets a birthday celebration. As usual, being a premerge boot gets you ignored at the reunion show. Why can’t it be the usual hour anymore?

In the fourteenth segment of the show, we get to the contestants for the next season. Kelly from Borneo gets to be on the season. Both Kimmi and Jeff Varner from Australia are playing next season. Keith from San Juan del Sur is on the next season. Peih-Gee from China is on the next season. Ciera and Vytas from Blood versus Water are both on the next season. Terry from Panama is on next season. Andrew from Pearl Islands is on next season. Abi-Maria from Philippines is on the next season. Kass from Cagayan is on the next season. Kelley from San Juan del Sur is on the next season. Monica from Samoa is on the next season. Shirin from this season is on next season. Stephen from Tocantins is on next season. Woo from Cagayan is on next season. Tasha from Cagayan is on next season. Jeremy from San Juan del Sur is on next season. Spencer from Cagayan is on next season. Joe from this season is on next season. Those are the twenty players for the next season. That means that the people that aren’t on the next season are Teresa from Africa, Max from this season, Mike from this season (his votes were made void), Shane from Panama, Jim from South Pacific, Carolyn from this season, Troyzan from One World, Natalie from Redemption Island, Sabrina from One World, Stephanie from Redemption Island, Brad from Blood versus Water, and Mikayla from South Pacific all did not receive enough votes and won’t be on the next season. I’ll talk more about the next season over the summer as there are a lot of blog posts that one can create about it. For now, I need to finish talking about this season.

Points at reunion show: So- 0, Vince- 0, Nina- 0, Lindsey- 0, Max- 0, Joaquin- 0, Kelly- 0, Hali- 0, Joe- 1, Jenn- 0, Shirin- 1, Tyler- 0, Dan- 2, Sierra- 0, Rodney- 1, Will- 1, Carolyn- 1, Mike- 1.

What a lame reunion show. Ever since Caramoan, they have cared very little about the reunion show. Over half of the cast was paid to sit there and say nothing because everyone gets paid for doing the reunion show. With a bunch of stuff that they had to fill in, people got short shafted at the reunion show. Bring back good reunion shows! Plus, the ending was heartbreaking to all the players that weren’t chosen to be on it. Now some lucky players will be on the next season while the other players just go back home empty handed. At least they knew that this could happen. Meanwhile, I probably have a future blog post to write about Kelly Wiglesworth, but it could be a while before it happens. We’ll get to the future of this blog in the last paragraph.

You may be wondering what I think the three dumbest moves this season are. I’ll forgo mentioning the nominees and go straight to who I think should win the rewards for dumbest moves of the season. The bronze award would have to go to So and Joaquin choosing to deceive their tribe instead of going with the honest choice. The silver award for dumbest move of the season, in my mind, is the collar twist. It didn’t seem to add anything to the season in my mind and seemed more random than use worthy. In my mind, the gold award for dumbest move of the season has to be Will attacking Shirin.

You may be wondering who I think is the breakout start of the season. Before we get to that, I’d like to apologize if I ever give the reward to men more often then I give it to women. I’m not sure that I’ve ever given it to a woman yet. I should. I won’t do it to be politically correct. But will work better in the future to make sure that women are considered for this award. Between Mike, Joe, Tyler, and Kelly, I think that the breakout star is Mike. Sorry to the others who didn’t make the cut. Since next season is all returning players, you won’t see that award then. But you will see it on any season that has new players on it.

You might be wondering what I think the most memorable moment of the season is. Well, at lot of this season couldn’t have happened without the axis of evil. So that alliance will be what I think is the most memorable moment of the season.

Now we get to how this season ranks out of the 30 seasons of Survivor that have aired. But first, I’ll also rank the tribe swap of this season. Out of the 19 tribe swaps, I rank this season’s swap as 15th best. So it may not be too high, but it is better than a lot of them. While I’m satisfied with the ending of this season, I don’t like the season in general. Out of the 30 seasons of Survivor that have aired, I rank this season as 22nd best. In my mind, it is currently the best of the bad seasons. 21 would start the list of average seasons. Hopefully things will be better in the next season, even if I voted for a different cast. But, since I like a lot of these contestants, I’m probably looking forward to the next season more likely than not.

Well, with another season of Survivor behind us and two more to look forward to in the future, you might be wondering what this blog will do. Well, I don’t think that I’ll have another old season to blog about for a while. I probably will at some point, but not during this upcoming hiatus. Until the next season starts, I will still update this blog on every Wednesday. In the event that I miss a Wednesday, I’ll be sure to point out why I did, but I won’t make up for it by double posting on Sundays and Wednesdays. I would only do that during the winter Survivor hiatus and not the summer Survivor hiatus. It will be a while before the next season starts, but I will be sure to post every Wednesday possible with a random post of some sort. I already have some written in the future. I’ll be sure to write more since I have a lot of thoughts on the upcoming Survivor season. Plus, I have other thoughts about Survivor in general. For now, this is Adam Decker signing off.

Episode 30.12

Well, another season of Survivor is coming up and I feel that need to talk about it. In fact, I’m afraid that they might have revealed spoilers about it without even telling us for sure. But I’ll definitely have to get online and get an account at www.cbs.com to vote for the poll. It has an interesting name for the season and makes me wonder why those particular people are up for a vote. They make it seem like this season will be in the fall and not the spring. So are the rumors that they are filming a season right now true? Will that season be season 32? Is the one they are talking about actually going to be the spring season? I’m so confused right now. Why would the season they are filming now air in the spring? Are the rumors about a season being filmed right now untrue? That might be what’s happening. Plenty of rumors about Survivor have turned out to be untrue. I still don’t know why people thought that Brandon and Russell Hantz were going to be on Blood versus Water. No smart person would think that.

SPOILER. Does it concern anyone that Mike is one of the rumored contestants for next season? Now I’m not as sure as I once was that he’ll win this season. With Tyler voted out and Carolyn also considered to be a player for the upcoming season, I’m not sure that I’ll like whoever wins this season. Now this is only a prediction in a way as to where the season will go. But I don’t think that Carolyn or Mike will win this season anymore. Sierra probably won’t win based on her invisible edit. Dan and Will have far too negative an edit to win. So does Rodney win then? Notice how none of the rumored players have won their season. Would Mike be different? A second chance season would logically not have any former winners in it, right? Are Mike and Carolyn fake choices for people on the real season 31? I know that the season we fans are casting might just be a reason to get people from recent seasons to play again. That’s why they do returning players season every so often. But I’m concerned that this season may have a disappointing ending and that wouldn’t be good for this already bad season. END SPOILER.

With this season nearing an end, you might be wondering my thoughts about it. You see, most people will probably say that this season is pretty bad. Normally when the fans say a season is bad, I disagree with them. But this time, they are right. I know that there are some people that think that this season might be good in some way. But I don’t see it going down as even an average season in the end. I just hope that there will never be a season as terrible as Fiji. In my mind, Fiji was the worst season and I don’t understand why so many people like it. Can we at least agree that Thailand was awful?

CBS has revealed more information about Survivor Second Chance. This will probably lead to blog posts in the future. To me, Second Chance may not be the best name for the season. They have a lot of interesting one-time players considered for the season in question. But not all of them or even most of them would be what I’d consider good players for a second chances season. That’s not to say that I’d be disappointed with any of the potential players, but some of them wouldn’t be good for second chances. I mean, a regular all-stars season where the contestants don’t necessarily need a second chance but get one anyways would probably be the best way of describing it. Why were some of these players chosen over others? Why so many from recent seasons? WHY ARE YOU STILL NOT LETTING AN ORIGINAL PLAYER FROM THE GUATEMALA SEASON PLAY AGAIN!? Plus, for it being a second chance season, it seems weird that none of the players considered to return were idoled out, medically evacuated, or voted out while in possession of an idol. At least they are only going with one-time players, which not every Survivor fan does when they create lists for second chances seasons. But you can more than likely expect blog posts about that future season during the hiatus between this season and that one. Of course, there’ll be other posts as well. We’ll get to that later. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, they finally mention Carolyn’s hidden immunity idol in the previously on Survivor segment meaning that it’s probably going to be important in the episode today. It’s about darn time. Mike talks about tribal council and what his plans are next. “He’s arrogant and condescending,” said Dan, ironically not speaking about himself. Carolyn talks about how they can’t get rid of Dan at the moment. I do have to wonder if Carolyn and Sierra are with Mike now or if they just voted with him that one time.

In the second segment of the show, Rodney complains more about the fact that he hasn’t won any reward challenges before what could be the last reward challenge of the season. It also seems likely that there will not be a loved ones challenge this season. Maybe they aren’t doing them any more. The teams are Dan, Sierra, and Rodney as well as Mike, Will, and Carolyn. It takes a long ass time for anyone to figure the phrase out. Mike, Carolyn, and Will win the reward challenge. Carolyn considers giving up her reward, but decides not to. I guess all the giving up rewards last season is why people even consider doing it nowadays. I don’t even remember it being an option to give up a reward until Pearl Islands.

In the third segment of the show, the reward challenge happens. The winning team talks about becoming the final three. Could that actually happen? Since they are actually showing the reward, then it could become important. However, it is far too often they fake us out with things like that. Dan also finds what might be fruit and it is. It makes Rodney happy.

In the fourth segment of the show, the tribes get treemail about the immunity challenge. Do they still do treemail? Why do we never see it that often? People still talk about Dan’s advantage in the game. Sierra doesn’t know what she’ll do. It’s a shame that we see so little of Sierra since she’d make a great winner. At the immunity challenge, some people do better than others. “I suck at life,” said Dan. After being close to winning the challenge a lot, Mike finally wins. I do wonder if him winning Survivor would be like Chris overcoming the Yasur alliance.

In the fifth segment of the show, Dan talks about how upsetting it is for the axis of evil to have to turn on each other. Also, how is Dan a huge threat? I don’t see it, but I see things in the edit as a viewer that the contestants wouldn’t get to see. Mike is not sure as to whether or not he can get rid of Dan tonight. When Mike tells Dan that Dan is in trouble, Dan doesn’t believe Mike. (I hate you lack of specific pronouns! Use of he in that sentence would be confusing.) Mike continues to cause chaos in the game. Carolyn doesn’t know whether or not to play an idol, but I think that she probably will use it. Meanwhile, I don’t know whether or not I want the extra vote twist to be wasted or not. As usual, I don’t know what will happen. Dan uses his advantage to cast an extra vote. I really do think that now was the best time to use it. But will it work? The question then comes down to an idol and Carolyn finally plays hers after quite possibly possessing one in the game for the longest amount of time. Dan is voted out of the game due to the null votes against Carolyn.

On the next Survivor, the finale happens. I don’t know why they said little to nothing about it. I’m not sure if the win this season is obvious as anything can go wrong and cause someone unexpected to win. Case in point: Panama.

Total confessional count: Carolyn- 39, Will- 16, Sierra- 17, Dan- 29, Mike- 46, Rodney- 34. New confessionals this episode: Sierra- 2, Dan- 5, Mike- 6, Rodney- 2, Carolyn- 6, Will- 2.

Will and Sierra are still very weak in the confessional count. Are they the casualties of the finale? The whole Mike/Rodney rivalry makes me wonder if there’s a possibility that for the first time ever there will be rivals sitting together in the final tribal council. I don’t think that has ever happened before, although it could have. Some seasons have satisfied us by having allies that were in control of the game reaching the end together. I never thought about it until just now: wouldn’t you love to see rivals compete against a jury? I do wonder if Sandra and Russell count as a rivalry or not. I just know that there is probably not a final two this season as that typically doesn’t happen when it starts with five people. Mike has the highest confessional count and could win the last two challenges. But can he turn that into a win? He has a lot to overcome and could still suffer defeat. But it looks like it is his game to lose.

Okay, with the finale happening next week on Wednesday, you can pretty much know what to expect from this blog of mine. I will post the three dumbest moves this season, the breakout star of the season, the most memorable moment of the season, and the ranking of this season. I will also rank this season’s tribe swap among the other tribe swaps. After next week, I’ll be posting random blog posts on every Wednesday until the next season starts. I can’t promise that I’ll be able to post every Wednesday as any strange thing can happen. You’ll only see Wednesday posts so if you don’t see something on one Wednesday, then you won’t see me post on Sundays. I’ll just be more sure to post the next Wednesday for sure. I already have some random posts written. Look forward to this blog and be sure to read all the future posts. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 30.11

We are at the point in the blog where I don’t know how to keep rearranging the names for the confessional count part of my blog. I keep it at near the end of each post. I hope that nobody considers them to be spoilers. I also can’t promise that they are accurate as it seems that my numbers are always lower than other people’s numbers. Meanwhile, I know that I’m not the only person who is disappointed that they didn’t do an all-stars season this season. Even if they somehow got every terrible person from the past in one cast, it still would have probably worked better than this season. While I’m glad that there are all new casts, since they never seem to find the right people for it, we at least can be given hope that returning players can help improve a season. Not everyone will agree with that, but the weak all new casts are proving why they kept using the returning players all the time in the first place. Honestly, at the rate they are going, a break of new Survivor episodes might actually be a good idea. Either that or they should replace their editors and casting people.

Why are there ever seasons with weak casts? Am I the only one who wonders how that happens? I just wonder why we get weak casts from time to time. We’ve had them often enough throughout the show that I just don’t see how they avoid this happening. Meanwhile, there could be something ominous about day 39 this season. The filming this season wrapped on September 11th. This could mean that the winner is bad or someone flawed like Mike. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, the fallout of tribal council is discussed by the axis of evil. Basically, Dan was upset that people voted for him and Mike was very glad that people were scrambling. Will these people be able to stick together or will Mike take over the game?

In the second segment of the show, we get to Rodney’s birthday. He wants to be on a reward as he’s the only person still in the game who hasn’t gone on one, yet. Promos have him wanting to get voted out, which seems strange to me. Also, are they doing a loved ones challenge this season? If they don’t do one in the next episode, then that whole type of challenge could be a thing of the past. The reward today is to be goodwill ambassadors. The teams for the reward are Dan, Tyler, and Rodney. Mike, Sierra, and Carolyn are the other team. Will doesn’t get to participate in the challenge. For goodness sakes, you should let him pick a team to support in the challenge instead of just giving him no chance at reward. That is always a cruel thing. Rodney messes up the challenge by forgetting his balls. People need their balls in this game. Despite not letting others mess with the catapult, Mike’s team wins the challenge. Poor Rodney never wins reward. There’s discussion about it but nobody gives up their reward for Rodney. Will this lead to why he wants voted out?

In the third segment of the show, we get to the reward. Mike seems to be getting the most out of the reward. This could be to support his possible win, although he still has a lot to overcome if he does win. I also don’t know why people are surprised that they are rooting for Mike to win. They seem like they don’t want to root for him but are because there aren’t any good alternatives. We see a beehive with lots of bees which I think is supposed to represent the type of angry person that Rodney is. Always pay attention to the animal imagery. Back in Pearl Islands, I knew that Rupert would get voted out when the snake was eating that animal whole. Dan thinks that Rodney is being a bit too much which says a lot. Rodney wanting to get voted out is merely a strategy to trick Mike into thinking that he is safe. Tyler talks about how he knows that he’s a threat which is why he thinks that this plan won’t work. Does this mean that Tyler will get voted out next?

In the fourth segment of the show, Rodney continues to be a whiny baby person. He really likes complaining. While I despise the phrase “get over yourself,” that’s exactly what Rodney could do, even if it is an act. Tyler wants Carolyn’s idol. They are the only two white collar members still in the game. I wonder if there’s going to be a null vote in this episode. We are back to the one immunity necklace. It seemed like adding the second one when they did was just trying to affect the game in ways that they shouldn’t be doing. Carolyn wins the challenge. What does this mean for the game? Anyone else notice that Carolyn was the blue platform and that was the person they showed dropping out of the challenge when they explained it? I have the feeling that Carolyn’s idol is suddenly going to be relevant to the season at hand. It’s about darn time.

In the fifth segment of the show, Dan worries about getting voted out. Interesting how he is complaining about him getting votes. If he’s at the final three, this just shows us how big of a goat he might be. People think that Dan’s advantage will become important. Will he use it this episode? They have to get rid of it in some way and this might be their best opportunity to do so. A lot of discussion happens at tribal council as people try to figure out who to vote for. Dan’s advantage is brought up. It could be the difference between him or Tyler going home. Or will it? Dan does not use his advantage. Mike plays his hidden immunity idol. Tyler gets voted out which my sister has mixed feelings about.

It turns out that the rumors of an America’s choice season will be true. I will be certainly voting in that poll. It will be a second chances season and we get to help to choose who plays it. I really hope that I like the cast and the season. It sounds like there will be more Survivor which is cool.

On the next Survivor, the majority alliance is going to crumble. Will it be like the Yasur alliance, failing at the exact wrong time and making the one person not in it the winner of the game? They might have another chance to get rid of Mike, but can they use it? Also, it was both Sierra and Carolyn even who helped Mike vote out Tyler.

Total confessional count: Mike- 40, Rodney- 32, Carolyn- 33, Will- 14, Sierra- 15, Dan- 24, Tyler- 21. New confessionals this episode: Rodney- 4, Carolyn- 4, Will- 1, Sierra- 1, Dan- 3, Tyler- 5, Mike- 4.

Mike remains at the top of the confessional count. Will has the lowest confessional count at the moment. Carolyn has the second highest and Rodney has the third highest. Meanwhile, I have looked up information about who might be on the next Survivor season. I’ve decided to talk about that in the next Survivor post and I’ll make sure that it is in a potential spoilers section as there could be spoilers about it. Is the season we are helping to cast season 31 or 32? I thought that they were filming season 31 right now, but I don’t know if that is correct. Meanwhile, nobody from Caramoan or Guatemala is being considered to be on the next season. So I guess that I’ll have to keep complaining that nobody from that season has returned (except for one person who didn’t even start on that season). I fear that what I mention about that season could be considered a spoiler, so I won’t mention anything until the next post. I just hope that I haven’t mentioned any spoilers already in this post. Anyways, I look forward to the next season and have some Survivor fans to talk about when I have the opportunity to. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
